Kitchen Reno: Day 107
Our subway tile backsplash went up last Wednesday (Day 101), and the DeLorean Gray grout was filled in the next day. I was impressed by how detailed the cuts were around all of the edges, especially in the alcove where the oven and microwave will go. Only the daughter of an engineer would notice something like that, right?
Dave and I picked simple brushed nickel pulls for all of the cabinets and drawers, and the faucet is just waiting for the plumbing to be hooked up. See what I mean about the detailed tile cuts--the tile guy left a gap precisely the size of the window molding (which will be added the same day our walls are painted).
This morning I had a visit from the electrician who took care of any excess and/or unmounted outlets. Dave and I decided early in the renovation process to splurge on a light fixture over the sink, and that came to light (hehehe) today with a simple can light. Now Dave can't use the excuse that it's too dark in the kitchen for washing dishes at night.
