Can you believe it's been 100 days since my kitchen was packed into boxes? Add two more weeks for when I discovered the leak, and it's been a ridiculously long time since this mess all started!
Dave had an unexpected visitor on Saturday while I was at my parents' house painting walls "greige" (that's a mix of grey and beige for those of you not acquainted with the new popular term for this category of neutral paint colors). Someone showed up out of the blue to install flooring transitions, which wasn't an unwelcome surprise. The transition in between the bamboo and the tile in the laundry room (installed by the flooring guys) didn't allow the door to close. There was no transition to the carpet in the living room, so I kept it covered with carpet squares so we wouldn't accidentally step on a carpet tack. But now we're happy to have nice bamboo transitions, doors that close all the way, and no surprise carpet tacks while running around barefoot.
Yesterday the granite guys arrived as planned to install the countertops--I'm one step closer to having a working kitchen sink again! I never thought I'd be so excited to wash dishes.
And today, Day 100, we were supposed to get our backsplash, but due to a miscommunication with the tiling guy, we have to wait till tomorrow. Hopefully I'll post pictures sooner rather than later once he's done with our white subway tile!
