Yesterday at church, there was a father sitting in the row in front of Dave and I with his three young daughters. All three were blond with bangs--the oldest had straight hair, the middle daughter had curls, and the youngest had your typically baby shag haircut. The age gaps were roughly the same as me, Mary, and Sarah. The oldest, who was probably 8 or 9 years old, held her baby sister, who was approximately 18 months; the middle daughter, who looked to be around 6 years old, had her doll, and helped with the baby. While I should have been paying more attention to the mass, I was reminiscing on the innocence and simplicity of childhood. I suppose I can justify my mental dalliance since Jesus did say we had to become like children in order to get in heaven!

It's hard to believe that the three of us are adults now with our own respective careers, Mary and I own our own homes, and Sarah and I are recently married. It wasn't so long ago that Mom mistakenly thought we were carrying our Cabbage Patch dolls around the house when it was actually Sarah dangling in our arms.
