Pieces of my Past

I went to the bank during my lunch break today, and I feel like I just traded in a piece of my history. My parents bought several bonds for me growing up--when I was born, when I made my First Communion, and for a couple of Christmases in the early 90's. When I moved out of my parents' house after graduating from college, my mom gave me these bonds from milestones of my childhood, and since I didn't really know what to do with them, I put them in a safe place... until now.

I thought it would be appropriate to cash in my savings bonds to help pay for the next big event in my life--my wedding. And it turns out that the total of my bonds cover the cost of my dress. Yes, I bought my dress this weekend, and I'll post more about that later once I've gotten some fun pics from my mother's camera of our adventures at David's Bridal ;-)
