I apologize for not posting any updates for over a month, but there hasn't been much to share since we've been moving at the speed of insurance. The kitchen and basement look the same as they did in April when mold remediation finished, but last week we finally made some progress toward starting the rebuild. We've chosen our finishes for the kitchen, but we're still waiting on the out-of-pocket estimate (for a few upgrades) to finalize the design.
Cabinets: Mocha Maple
Paint: Behr Absolute Zero
Backsplash: White Subway Tile
Counters: New Caledonia Granite
Floors: VG Carbonized Bamboo

| Our finishes for the new kitchen |
Since we're getting a whole new kitchen, we decided to go for broke and update the appliances as well, so today we went to HD and ordered a new dishwasher with a third rack on top, gas range/self-cleaning convection oven, over-the-range microwave, and French door refrigerator with a freezer drawer on the bottom. I'm so excited that we're going to have fancy upgraded appliances that we got to pick out for the first time ever!

We also picked up a new faucet since we figured this is the perfect time to start switching from the oil-rubbed bronze finish the previous homeowners left us to the brushed nickle/stainless steel we prefer. Good thing this is our 20-30 year home since there are a ton of doorknobs to change out!
