May 22: Our flight arrived around lunchtime, and then we picked up our rental car (a brand new Nissan Sentra) and checked into our hotel. We had dinner at an authentic Mexican restaurant with my aunt, and spent the evening with her and my two youngest cousins.

Can you tell we're related?
May 23: Dave and I joined his friends Chad and Amber and their two children for a trip to the Dallas Zoo. I think the adults were more tired than the kids at the end of the day!

Fortunately no one got left behind with the monkeys...
May 24: The main reason for our trip was to attend the First Communion of Dave's goddaughter, Phoebe. He is also the godfather of her younger brother, Cole. That evening, we went to an Irish pub to hear Chad's father play in their family group,
Behan.

May 25: We went to a church closer to the hotel for morning mass, and then the GPS helped us find a place called Fuzzy's Taco Shop for my birthday lunch. Since the weather didn't cooperate for outdoor activities, we spent the afternoon wandering the mall before heading to Chad and Amber's for one of my favorite dinners: spaghetti and meatballs!

I think these two would get along
May 26: After lunch at a pit BBQ place (where you chose your meat from a giant outdoor grill), we drove to the Dallas Arboretum to spend the afternoon walking through the beautiful gardens. I loved all of the water features, and Dave was impressed with the peacock topiaries that had brightly colored flower beds for feathers.

This is only a small selection of photos I took
May 27: Catch an early flight home so we have the rest of the day to recover from a busy trip!
