Productive Saturday

When I moved into my townhouse five and a half years ago, I meant to replace the mailbox post that looked like it had been run over. After a someone backed into it again a few months ago, I renewed that promise to myself. Then the nasty-gram from the Homeowners Association arrived, and I knew I could put it off no longer. Thankfully my handy father came over to teach Dave about replacing mailboxes. While the boys were busy with that task, I decided to rearrange the pavers around my front planter and added a new shrub--it's purple!  When the mailbox was done, I recruited by father to help replace the front porch light with a sensor light I bought back before Dave and I were married (when the creeper neighbor still lived next door).  In one Saturday, we managed to accomplish several years' worth of procrastinated home improvement projects.  Along with the new roof and the repaired gutters, we've added some serious curb appeal to our home this fall!  Now I just need to motivate myself to mulch the flower beds with some pine straw and replant my iris and daffodil bulbs for the spring...

The old mailbox was easier to remove than expected

Ta-da!  New mailbox on a level post

Why not add some more curb appeal while the weather is nice?
