Budgets and Smoothies

I have dubbed 2014 the year of a budget and smoothies for us.  Why?  Well, two reasons...

1) Dave and I have been talking about setting up an actual budget since we moved, and now that my temp job at the law firm is over, I have time to read the Dave Ramsey book my sister gave me a few years ago--and she has now also passed along the workbook to go with it.  Maybe I'll actually open the book next week...

2) At the end of 2013, I went to see the ENT for my chronic sinus issues.  As it turns out, my sinuses are perfectly fine, but I do have TMJ (Temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders).  Who knew that TMJ caused so many issues not logically connected to the jaw and teeth, like headaches, facial pain, vertigo, and earaches?  Now that I have an actual diagnosis, we can treat the symptoms correctly, which means no more ineffective rounds of antibiotics for non-existent sinus infections.  The hardest part has been giving up some of the chewy, crunchy foods I love, like chewing gum, nuts, and most fresh fruits and veggies.  So that I can still get the health benefits of fresh fruits and vegetables, we invested in a Magic Bullet blender to make smoothies and other blended foods that won't aggravate my TMJ.  Please send your favorite smoothie recipes my way!
